About the Classes

These classes offer simple, practical methods to improve the quality of our life and develop inner peace through meditation and Buddhist teachings. Classes consist of two guided meditations and a teaching to help us solve our daily problems and find the lasting happiness we seek.  No previous experience required – beginners welcome. Classes are presented in series, however each class is self contained.  Drop in any week.

$12 / class or $50 for five class pass

4 Keys to Happiness

This series will look at 4 simple ways to create happiness as well as protect ourself from the inner delusions that destroy our happiness from within.  Each class will look at a particular cause of happiness and how to develop it, and then look at the opposite mind and how to prevent it from arising.  Everyone is welcome to attend any or all of the classes.

May 29 – Inner Peace of Concentration vs Distraction

June 5 –  Giving vs Miserliness

June 12 – NO CLASS

June 19- Rejoicing in Other’s Happiness vs Jealousy

June 26 – Unconditional Love vs Uncontrolled Desire

Gen Kelsang Thekchen is the Resident Teacher of KMC Vancouver. He is a Canadian Buddhist monk, and the Resident Teacher of KMC Vancouver. He has been ordained for 18 years. He is well known for his ability to present Buddha’s teachings in a simple, practical and often humorous way, making them easy to put into practice in everyday life.
